Confidence, Words & Finding Your Voice

I might be a little biased but I believe the right words give you confidence.

Whether you're speaking to a roomful of actual people.
Or you're going live on Facebook.
Or you're inviting everyone back to your website.

The right words allow you to share what you're thinking & creating with confidence & enthusiasm.

Not the kind of enthusiasm that makes you sound like a used car salesman or an infomercial or a telemarketing guy...

But genuine excitement.

Sometimes You Need To Put on The Blinders & Create From The Heart

I declare a moratorium on courses to accelerate.
I declare a respite from the offers of my inbox.
I do need a breather from the flavours of temptation.
I declare a full time out from external siren songs.

I've never looked within & led with heart for next steps.
I've never fully owned the knowledge I possess.
I've never felt the depths of my abilities.
To let go of the fear of missing out & breathe.

I declare a moratorium on courses to accelerate.
I declare a respite from the offers of my inbox.
I do need a breather from the flavours of temptation.
I declare a full time out from external siren songs.

I've never felt legit just figuring it out, stumbling towards success.
I've never felt enough just as I am.

I declare a moratorium on courses to accelerate.
I declare a respite from the offers of my inbox.
I do need a breather from the flavours of temptation.
I declare a full time out from external siren songs.

I've never accepted my journey as perfect, made just for me.
To let go of sideways glances and breathe.

I declare a moratorium on courses to accelerate.
I declare a respite from the offers of my inbox.
I do need a breather from the flavours of temptation.
I declare a full time out from external siren songs.

Inhale, exhale.
Put on my blinders.
And uncover the work of my heart.
Bring it to the light.
Rise within so I can rise without.

A note about the above poem.  It was inspired by Alanis Morissette's song - Moratorium.  I love her work.  If you're not familiar with her or haven't listened beyond the iconic Jagged Little Pill album, do yourself a favour & rediscover this amazing woman.

Also, this is not about regret or buyer's remorse.  I have invested in myself & my biz this year - repeatedly - & I have taken some of the most amazing, perspective-altering, life-changing courses.  Seriously, I have very few regrets (there's always that one ;).

If you find a course that perfectly aligns with what you're focused on creating & a teacher that you love & trust.  By all means - jump!

But I also think we get trapped by FOMO (fear of missing out) far more often than we care to admit.  I think we buy into the hype and the glitter and convince ourselves *this* one will be the one that makes all the difference.
