I have failed miserably when it comes to New Year’s Resolutions.
Mostly because they were motivated by some unspoken “should”s. You should lose weight/get healthier. You should save more money/make more money. You should organize and purge all the things. The lists went on. Year after year. Trying to will myself into being…different. And if you’ve ever bought a gym membership in January you know - willpower is a finite resource.
Enter last year. . .

I've been writing these wishes for 3 years now and it's becoming one of my favourite traditions. <3
May you know your infinite potential and your innate worth. You are enough, just as you are.
May you understand the paradox of being perfect and always a work in progress. Expansion is the point AND there's nothing to fix.
May you feel the conviction of your beliefs fuel your words and actions.
May your voice be heard around the world. Clearly articulating the message of your soul without fear or doubt. May you feel the power of your words and may they reach the hearts of those who need to hear them most.

It was a winter year,
a planting of seeds in the darkness year,
and waiting,
and waiting,
patiently,
impatiently,
pacing the well-worn paths of my heart.
Nurturing the tender new shoots.
Weeding the beliefs that would choke their growth.

It’s been 3 weeks since my last blog, which kinda feels like walking up to a confessional booth and saying it’s been 3 weeks since my last confession. Or so I imagine because I’m not Catholic. I also took a huge break from posting content on social media.
I wish I could say that I’ve been quiet because I’ve been on vacation on some gorgeous tropical beach. That I’m writing to you now with sand between my toes.
But no.
Truth?
I felt completely drained. Exhausted. Uninspired. I had NOTHING to say (which never happens). Until it did, 3 weeks ago. Does this ever happen to you?

PREFACE: Communication has been a BIG theme for me this week. I really can’t emphasize that last sentence enough. Big. Huge. In. My. Face. Theme. (Also forgive me for using the tired clichés “finding your voice” and “speaking your truth” in this post. I’m fired up and they get my point across).

We’ve all heard of the old cliché “getting out of your own way”. In other words, the #1 thing holding you back from achieving what you want - it’s you. True in most things I think. But learning how exactly you’re holding yourself back and WTF to do about it? That’s the hard part.
